Plans have been put forward to Highland Council for a pet crematorium facility to be sited near Wick.
The proposal by Steven Nicolson from Sibster is for the "change of use of part of an agriculture field to a site for a pet crematorium with parking provision for two vehicles".
"Two shipping containers on site one will hold the incinerator and the other for storage," states the planning proposal.
The documents lodged with the council contain details of the incinerator as follows: "It will be located in a shipping container, it has a burn rate of (kg/hr) <45 low="" capacity="" incinerator,="" it="" has="" a="" primary="" chamber="" and="" a="" secondary="" chamber="" that="" will="" hold="" the="" temperature="" to="" 850="" degrees="" with="" a="" 2="" second="" retention="" time."="">
The declaration for application to the planning authority was signed by Mr Nicolson and dated February 1, 2024.
